Bees Hate Me!

Today I got a glorious parcel in the mail. It contained the final missing piece of my Banila Co. Miss Flower & Mr. Honey collection: the Banila Co. Miss Flower & Mr. Honey Cream.

The jar is absolutely spectacular.

The jar feels heavy and solid in the hand, and the lid gives a satisfying click when twisted shut.

But of course it’s what’s on the inside that counts. What’s on the inside is a thick but soft and easily spreadable cream that, like the Miss Flower & Mr. Honey Essence Oil and Essence Stick, exudes the full-flavored sweetness of rich golden honey dripping straight off the comb. A little bit dabbed onto the back of my chronically dry hand made the skin instantly soft and comfortable.

And there’s a lot of it, unlike some brands that pack their jars 2/3 full and call it good.

As with the rest of the line, there are a bevy of lovely moisturizing, barrier-supporting, brightening, and anti-aging actives and extracts in there. And honey goodness, of course.

I’m a bit nervous about the petrolatum. Most moisturizers with petrolatum don’t sit well on my skin, leaving me oily and shiny, but here it isn’t the first ingredient, and I’m hoping it’ll be okay. It certainly is fine on my hand, but hands and faces are different things.

I’ve been wanting to complete this set ever since I found out there were other Miss Flower & Mr. Honey products besides the masks.

I’ve been a bit busy and haven’t had time to post extensive reviews or features for a while, but things are calming down now. Expect lots of posts coming very soon!

  2. I’m DYING to try this cream, but the petrolatum freaks me out. I got cystic acne from the last two products I tried with mineral oil, which seems too similar to petrolatum. I’m known to make unwise decisions and give into temptation quite frequently though, so I might go for it after all!

    1. I am usually not a fan of petrolatum in moisturizers either. That was a common base of a lot of non-AB moisturizers that greasebombed me. But I trust everything else in this line, so…we’ll see.

  3. If it makes you feel any better, niacinamide’s usage rate is 5% or less, and the petrolatum is a couple of ingredients behind it, so there’s probably a very tiny amount in there, probably for the consistency of the product.

    I am lemming so hard for this cream, but I wouldn’t be able to touch it until winter at the earliest. Please, invent a scratch and sniff screen so I can inhale and appreciate it.

  4. I love all your Honey Posts lately 😀 I love honey so much in every way so I’m super keen to introduce some more honey products into my routine. I’ve been trying to find somewhere I can buy the Oil that will ship to me! I’m hoping Jolse will stock it 😀

      1. Oh thank you for that, for some reason I didn’t even think of TesterKorea, I know there was a bit of a trend there where people were peeved at their shipping times so I kinda put them to the back of my mind but I’d be willing to wait their shipping times for the magical honey oil! 😛

  5. I’ve decided to believe that all my bee product purchases are good for the environment, as they give industry an incentive to invest in sustaining the bee population. I don’t know if this theory actually holds water, but it sounds logical on the surface and that’s all I really need.
