  2. Thanks for referring to The Beauty Brains. This will be a new favorite, I’m sure! It’s nice to see legitimate science and people from w/in that profession or industry discuss things in a way that’s geared towards laypeople.

    Have you frequented Just About Skin or Future Derm as other resources? Future Derm just had a nice article addressing retinol, vitamin C, and food-based skincare questions earlier this month. I’m pretty pleased with how well it read! Succinct and thoroughly cited 🙂

    1. I do like FutureDerm. I agree that it’s great to hear the perspectives of real professionals in the field, especially when they clarify something that I’ve misunderstood or misinterpreted. Skincare and cosmetic chemistry are so complex, and chemistry and biology were really not my strong suits in school, all the way back in 1891 😂

        And awesome, I’m happy you already like FutureDerm! Also it’s more than okay if you misunderstand things, because even when you understand basic sciences (or are in professional school for a health field), skincare/dermatology is only played up minimally, signaling it’s still pretty much a ball of WUTTT? for the rest of your days unless you become a dermatologist or a cosmetic chemist. It stinks because so many people, including myself, deal with rosacea, eczema, or psoriasis (serious Rx needed for that one, but good products help in conjunction!), and these conditions can be pretty embarrassing and painful sometimes.

        Thankfully there are people out there that knows this audience exists. Do tell if you find any other sources you like, I’d love to read up on them. 🙂

  3. Hi, Snail Lady.. I’ve been following your blog for a while now.. Thanks for the link! I have given up on hyaluronic acid because it was “just” a humectant.. The new stuff they were saying made me want to order my own bottle of the Hada Labo Hyaluronic Acid Lotion too! Lol

I ran out of my lotion two months ago and decided not to repurchase it. not that special I thought… since then I used a whole lot of moisturizing things and even used sheet masks more often, but noticed that my skin looked not that hydrated, the lines were more visible… so I decided to repurchase the hada labo lotion 😉 and then I read your post. 😉

  5. Hiya Fiddy Snails! Long time reader and scant commenter here. Love love love your reviews and I often make my purchases based on them! 🙂

    I recently bought a bottle of the Hada Labo Gokujyun Super Hyaluronic Acid Lotion out of curiosity and applied the liquid directly onto my face right after toner. I applied all other products in my regular routine after. I did this two nights in a row. Both mornings after I noticed that my skin looks super dehydrated.

    Am I doing something wrong with the application? I was reading reviews on Amazon.com and noticed some people saying the lotion should be applied on a “wet face” so can lock in the moisture?

    Super confused so would appreciate your input on how to apply this seemingly universally loved product!

      1. My Routine incorporating the Hada Labo lotion was something like this:

        toner > AHA > toner > Hada Labo lotion > LJH tea tree essence > Cosrx snail mucin essence > Scinic honey AIO ampoule > Cosrx ceramide cream mixed with Banila Co. honey oil

        Do you think any of the above may have reacted negatively with the Hada Labo lotion??

    1. There are many places now! If you’re outside of the US, sites like Jolse, RoseRoseShop, Wishtrend, W2Beauty, etc. that are based in Korea will be your best bet. Typically Jolse and RRS have the best pricing, although RRS can definitely give you a shock when the shipping price is calculated. W2Beauty prices can be higher but Alice gives amazing customer service and she often has new releases first. Wishtrend I like for the exclusive products they have. I avoid TesterKorea as much as I can because they have in the past taken more than a month to fill an order.

  7. Hi! I love my HL lotion and Missha FTE, but am confused as to which comes first. Missha FTE is very similar to the Cosrx whitening essence you have currently on rotation, so I’m wondering whether I should ignore the ‘First Treatment’ label and apply after the HL lotion. What do you think?
