Shop News: Monday Mask Party!

I don’t usually do Instagram review roundups because I like to give you guys different things on different sites. I have a (half-assed but deliberate) system for deciding what goes where. But I don’t want anyone to miss out on the launch of the Mask Party sheet mask set at my favorite Taiwan-focused boutique AB shop, Beautibi!

The products featured in this post were provided for my consideration by Beautibi.

One of the things I appreciate most about Beautibi owner Jen is that she doesn’t present herself as a skincare expert, as some other AB shop owners do. Jen’s in the business of Treat Yoself, not the business of Treat Your Serious Skin Conditions. She knows it, and she rocks it with impeccable taste and original curation (which is becoming scarce in the AB shop world!). I’ve spent the last few days trying the masks in the Mask Party set that she sent me last week. Out of the six masks the set contains, all four of the ones I’ve used so far have given me stellar results. Based on that and on my past experience with her choices, I’m pretty confident I’ll love the others, too.

Mask Party Beautibi beauty box review
It’s a party for your face. It even comes with confetti.

The Mask Party set comes in five flavors: Anti-Aging, Sensitive/Acne Prone Skin, Hydration/Radiance, Whitening/Brightening, and “Random for the brave.” Jen sent me the Anti-Aging version, so the masks reviewed below reflect that set. Mask Party includes:

1 LOVEISDERMA biocellulose mask. If you’ve ever used a Leaders Insolution coconut gel mask or an Innisfree Second Skin fermented soy gel mask, you’re already familiar with biocellulose as mask sheet material. Now forget those fragile face condoms. LOVEISDERMA’s biocellulose sheets are a totally different experience. There are several flavors of the LOVEISDERMA. I received the Pro Repair; which variety you get will depend on which skin concern you choose.

1 Purpletale 5 Steps to Lovely Skin Complete Facial Solution, whose five steps are cleanser, ampoule, sheet mask, face cream, and neck cream. Seriously, it’s a complete skincare routine in one package. A few people on my Instagram mentioned how perfect it would be for traveling, and they’re right.

1 MasKingdom Aboriginal Series Mask, which contains an ampoule in addition to the mask itself. I’ve adored literally every MasKingdom mask I’ve ever tried, including this one. There are several different Aboriginal Series masks. My anti-aging Mask Party came with the Taiwan Hibiscus & Strawberry anti-aging and antioxidant mask.

1 Eau de FEMMUE Botanical Mask. I haven’t tried these yet, but the ingredients look promising, and like I said, Jen’s taste is impeccable.

Eau de FEMMUE botanical sheet masks
They’re so pretty. Jen has a talent for picking masks that combine solid skincare with exquisite packaging.

To make up for not having tried these yet, here are the ingredients for the four FEMMUE masks Jen sent.

The Botanist Chamomile Mask (yellow; calming/hydrating): Water, butylene glycol, glycerin, PEG-60 hydrogenated castor oil, chamomilla recutita (matricaria) flower extract, carbomer, arginine, betaine, ethylhexylglycerin, xanthan gum, dextrin, sodium polyacrylate, dipotassium glycyrrhizate, 1,2-hexanediol, phenoxyethanol, parfum, disodium EDTA

The Botanist Elder Mask (blue; hydrating/radiance): Water, butylene glycol, glycerin, PEG-60 hydrogenated castor oil, sambucus nigra flower extract, carbomer, arginine, betaine, ethylhexylglycerin, xanthan gum, dextrin, sodium polyacrylate, dipotassium glycyrrhizate, 1,-2 hexanediol, phenoxyethanol, parfum, disodium EDTA

The Botanist Lavender Mask (lavender; revitalizing/soothing): Water, butylene glycol, glycerin, caprylic/capric triglyceride, lavandula angustifolia extract, sodium hyaluronate, carbomer, arginine, polysorbate 60, glyceryl stearate, cetearyl alcohol, sorbitan sesquioleate, ethylhexylglycerin, 1,2-hexanediol, phenoxyethanol, parfum, disodium EDTA

The Botanist Peony Mask (pink; blooming/radiance): Water, butylene glycol, glycerin, caprylic/capric triglyceride, paeonia lactiflora root extract, sodium hyaluronate, carbomer, arginine, polysorbate 60, glyceryl stearate, cetearyl alcohol, sorbitan sesquioleate, ethylhexylglycerin, 1,2-hexanediol, phenoxyethanol, parfum, disodium EDTA

1 Wish Formula Bat Eye Mask. I’m a idiot. I used one of these yesterday morning, and the only picture I took was on my Snapchat. (My excuse is that we were recording an episode of the Snailcast when I used it, and I had other things on my mind, like recording the Snailcast.) I then forgot to at least screenshot that snap of myself with a mask shaped like a Dracula bat draped across my face. What I can tell you is that this eye mask is very juicy and very hydrating. I’d gotten almost no sleep the night before (thanks, daylight savings time). The batmask brightened and firmed my undereye area right up and gave me a laugh while doing it. Its featured ingredients are vitamin C, adenosine, centella, and fermented honey.

Eye mask bonus tip: If the fine lines and dryness under your eyes need extra help, dab a drop of facial oil on the area before applying your eye mask. The emollient oil and the hydrating mask essence will plump, firm, and smooth the skin for an extra revitalized look!

1 Wish Formula Panda Eye Essence Mask, which I haven’t yet opened. This brightening and anti-wrinkle mask features 10% vitamin C, vitamin E, and fermented honey, mistletoe, soybean, and licorice extracts.

Beautibi Mask Party review
See what I mean about a party for your face?

The Mask Party Pack launches today on Beautibi, where it’s currently on sale for $28. US shipping is free for orders over $35 (normally $75) from now through Friday. And if you’ve never ordered from Beautibi before, you can use my referral link to get an extra $5 off your first order!

Personally, I’ll be ordering one or two Mask Party sets this week. I would do it today, but the thing is, I just made an order on Friday that’s being delivered this afternoon, and I feel a little weird about turning around and immediately buying more. I need at least a day between a delivery and another haul.

In case you’re curious:

I love MasKingdom and I’m really into ginseng right now.

What would a mask party for your face look like?

  1. Okay, you sold me on Beautibi; I just placed my first order. I have a feeling after I use MasKingdom, I am doomed (though I will always love Evercos and L’Herboflore). Have you tried Evercos? I really love them.

    1. I tried the Evercos ginseng mask forever ago! It started a real love/hate thing for me with ginseng, because the smell (dirt and twigs?) is not something I love, but the effects were ridiculous. I need to find some more Evercos varieties now!

  2. Thank you for posting this, Fiddy. I received an email about it this morning, but was on the fence (and still had some Beaute Forest masks in my cart). Off the fence. All checked out! I’m very excited to try these. I got the anti-aging set, too!

  3. Okay, my comment that hijacked my comment on your other post should have gone here. Missed the extra blog post.

And I had no idea about the Monday Mask Party when I ordered from Beautibi last night. Oh well. I’m not lacking the mask department, and the order’s already shipped.

I like that site a lot for precisely the reasons that you mention, and the markups really aren’t that bad compared to the prices in Taiwan. They’re very fair.

  4. You snaily enabler, you! J/k, pretty stoked to get my random Mask Party! I also picked up two L’HERBOFLORE masks with mermaids on the package for a girls’ weekend with my bestie because she loves the Little Mermaid, yay! I may also have gotten the MasKingdom Peony & Lovage Rhizome Mask. I mean I had to get over the free shipping threshold some how.

      2. The prettiness, yes! Ir’s amazing! As for the Spring Fling box, all I know is April 😉 I’m going to be reviewing some of the masks in it before then, so you’ll have a bit of warning, hahaha.
