Pet peeve: Spammy bot comments, esp from beauty brands and vendors. . You guys know what I'm talking about. "Hi! We are opening a new K-beauty store! Check us out!" "Great content! Come check us out!" "We love your feed and want to collab! Come check us out!" "We're looking for brand ambassadors! Come check us out!" "[Insert random emoji] Come check us out!" . (Also: "These have chemicals and are bad! Come check out my [insert MLM scam here]!" But that's a different, #antimlm tale.) . These little spam comments might seem minor, but they piss me off, and I'll tell you why: they show disrespect for both the content creator and the content creator's audience. Someone put time and effort into taking a photo and composing a caption for the audience they've worked hard to build and engage. Then someone else swoops in and thinks that person's comment section will be a great free ad space for their spam. . And it is spam. They aren't trying to engage the content creator. If a brand or vendor wants to collaborate, the proper way to do that is by reaching out privately and giving the content creator the choice to give them airtime or not. Putting a solicitation in a public comment is an attempt to reach the eyeballs of the audience. Not the creator. . I don't know what bullshit "social marketing 101" clickbait guide this comes from, but brands and vendors that do this need to not. . Take the time and money you invest in setting up a comment bot, and use it instead to seek out and develop genuine relationships with accounts that align with your brand. . The #abcommunity is not wallets with eyes. They're smart people who can tell the difference between spam and authentic engagement. And #abbloggers aren't free billboard space for just anyone to paint over with their ads. Stop being gross. . I get a ton of these and I always block them as soon as I see them in my notifications. They don't deserve the exposure. Cleanse: Quick swipe of #Neogen Real Flower Cleansing Water (Calendula) followed by 107 Oneoseven Low pH Chaga Cleanser. . #Rohto Melano CC Intensive Anti-Spot Essence, the cult #jbeauty Vitamin C product that I've been testing out. With both ascorbic acid and the oil-soluble vitamin C derivative ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate (but in undisclosed concentrations) as well as licorice root extract, this is showing some promise for me. . After about a 15 minute wait time or however long it takes me to remember to get back to it: . Spritz of #NIOD Superoxide Dismutase Saccharide Mist to moisten and soften skin back up for following layers. . NIOD Copper Amino Isolate Serum 2:1. I think I've made my love for this #firmingserum with #copperpeptides clear. . #AwakeAsleep Parsley Seed Energy Serum, which was @beaut.chat swag that Chloe sent my way. This has centella asiatica, madecassoside, and asiaticoside, which all sound good for anti-inflammatory purposes. My new goal is keeping redness down so much I never need to use foundation, so hopefully this aids in that process. It also has 1ppm (HAHAHA) parsley seed extract, which...I won't put much stock in any effects there. . #Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence . #Lovemore Pearl & Red Pearl Barley sheet mask for hydration and further anti-inflammatory goodness. . NIOD Neck Elasticity Catalyst on neck only. I love the effects, but I think it clogs everywhere else on me. . Cosrx Advanced Snail 92 All In One Cream around eyes, Cosrx Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask on face, neck, and chest. .
